You are scheduled to attend Myra S. Barnes Intermediate School 24 in September as a member of the class of 2026. In order for us to plan for September 2023 you will need to share some information with us so we can begin preparing for your arrival. 

 

We offer the following courses as Talent Classes:  Dance, Visual Arts, Band, Media, Graphic Arts and Performing Arts. A screening will not take place for a Talent class. We ask that you choose a first and second choice as a requirement. Students/Families will not be making a decision on a World Language choice and the school will make a choice of either Spanish or Italian. Talent class descriptions are in the form below.  The final decision is made by I.S. 24 as budgets, and class sizes are determined over the summer months. Our school will notify you in late August with a class placement for September and we will do our best to honor either a first or second choice of a talent class. Student programs will be available to your child on the first day of school.

 

Using the survey link we have provided below it is necessary that you fill it out for each student(s) who will be attending our school. Please complete the form by the end of the day on Friday, May 5, 2023. The form will close at midnight and no longer accept responses. One form per child must be submitted using this Google Form.

 

 

Please note our school will not have Honors Classes at the start of the sixth grade. We will make the determination as a school later in the sixth-grade year after we get to know the students. Our Honors program will begin in Grade 7.  Please fill out the survey on or before the deadline as this will assist us in planning our classes and notifying families and students over the summer as well.
